The Firmware Connect App automatically updates firmware in Xerox ConnectKey multifunction printers with no user intervention. Updates are performed of the evening or during non-business hours. All settings are kept at the device. Firmware is updated sequentially in order of approved firmware versions. Every manufacturer regularly releases new firmware versions to fix security issues, operational issues, or new compatibility issues.
As the world becomes more complicated and keeps tightening up security, Xerox has to release new firmware versions to remain compatible with 3rd party email servers. Automatic firmware updates increase customer satisfaction, increase equipment reliability, decrease service calls and decrease partner workload.
